We did it! We got married at a beautiful venue with delicious food and many wonderful family members.
The day before the wedding I had spent with my family and had some much needed family time before we head over to Germany. I made it to their Bed and Breakfast in time for breakfast with the entire Bowen/Henderson/Hood/Fitts clan and then the five women went to get pampered and beautified before the wedding. After that, the clan reunited for dinner at a local restaurant located on Lake Eerie called Jake's on the Lake. Some of the dishes were very good. I had the Pecan-Crusted Salmon (delicious), however, my dad (Russ) and Uncle Ark had the Walleye. Unfortunately, they weren't all that impressed with it. Everything else was very good besides the fact that they don't serve sweet tea! That is blasphemous to my southern family.
Alex and I are leaving for Germany in a few hours. We have a flight at 12:12 pm out of the Cleveland-Hopkins International Airport that will land at Newark at about 2:00 pm. From there we must make our way through customs and then catch a flight at 5:40 pm to Berlin. We will arrive at 2:00 am (USA) and 8:00 am (DE). Once we arrive we must collect our baggage and head through customs once more. After we make it through we need to switch terminals and pick up our rental car. From there we head to our new home!
I'll update you from there...
P.S. the titles for the blogs will be quotes from a journal my maid of honor gave me to write in. Today's quote belonged to Amelia Earhart.
